contractor-flooring-interior for Residential Entryways

interior design

Contractor-flooring-interior is planned mostly for hardwood floors. We are seeing a very high demand for hardwood flooring.

It's kind of strange, but back in the fifties, most homes had hardwood floors because it was cheap and durable. In the mid sixties and early seventies, the wall-to-wall carpet craze came barreling in.

Everybody covered up the hardwood floors with carpet. If a home didn't have carpet, it was considered cold and drafty. There were many kinds of carpet, but the carpet during the seventies was definitely the ugliest.

There are still many older homes that have wall-to-wall carpet, but underneath is the real value. We are finding a lot of hardwood floors in excellent condition under the carpeting.

Fortunately, carpet is secured by using tack strips under baseboards so the hardwood flooring only has a few holes in it on the outside edges.

The quality of wood was quite good back then, so some of these floors could easily last another fifty to a hundred years.

With the invention of substrate panels like wafer board and particleboard, floors can have a cheap underlayment and so the quality wood is saved for floors, doors and entryways.

Here are some entryways, but most aren't very affordable to make because of the high price of hardwood. Still, if it's something you've got to have, make it look nice.
