Women are responsible for designer-interior-residential-space in the housing industry

woman carpenter

Women have assumed the role of Chief designer-interior-residential-space in most homes. They keep the housing market alive with ever-changing trends and styles.

But the role women play in the housing industry goes way beyond designing kitchens, bedrooms and baths.

Let me do some backgrounding for a second. I was born in 1962. Back in that era, most women were "stay at home moms". That's what made them happy.

1960's

During the 70's, inflation hit us all really hard. One income was no longer sufficient to maintain a family. Many women had to go to work, but they found a lot of opposition when they got there.

womens rights

The opposition to women in the workplace created a necessary awareness that was unprecedented. For the first time in modern civilization or perhaps even throughout the entire history of the world was consideration given to women.

We have seen it unfold and although it has far to go until it's perfect, it has shown us that there are many advantages to uniting our minds and muscle.
I don't claim to be a professional in the area of women or any other area really, but I'm certain that my life will continue to prosper as long as I utilize the advice of some great women in my life.

Consider for a second, how diverse and valuable the modern day homes are in our society. They just keep rising in value. These beautiful homes are designed inside and out mainly for the tastes of women.

Also consider for a moment, the places that oppress women and the very common look of the homes where they live.

I don't want to over-dramatize this whole thing, so I will end at this point with this advice: Women have made the homes we all live in interesting and valuable.

Now that we're over that sticky subject, let's address some issues that are very real to women. Men also have problems in these areas as well. As homebuilders, women and men really aren't very different at all. As a chief designer-interior-residential-space self contractor, a person has to ask him or herself these questions:

  • Am I strong Enough?
  • Am I smart enough?
  • Will I get the respect from others that I need?
