Specialty garden-trees for landscaping

Local climates determine what kind of garden-trees and specialty trees are used in landscaping. There is a wonderful variety of these trees where there are varying altitudes and micro-climates.
That's why I like St. George, Utah so much. It has many micro-climates because it's elevation varies as much as 2,000 feet.

At one point, Joshua Trees can even be found. These are very remarkable trees with their own kind of beauty.

Dwarf fan palm trees are a family of palms that landscapers like to use. They don't grow high enough to tip over and be dangerous like regular palm trees.

Most palm trees like sandy or quick draining soil and a lot of sun. Drip systems work better than garden hoses for palm trees. When planting palms, make the hole with soft soil, especially on the bottom for root growth.Use any fertilizers mixed with the soil. Peel away dead palm fronds and keep the tree stabilized from the wind until it has a good root system.
