Basics on how-to-install-drywall corners
Now it's time to learn how-to-install-drywall corners. You will need to reinforce the corners with a special kind of tape or corner bead.

The tape folds in half and makes a 90 degree angle or whatever angle you want to make. It is applied the same way normal tape is. It is not as durable as vinyl or metal corner beads. These are nailed in place and are covered with compound. The corners need to be put on before any other taping because they usually require more layers of mud to hide the seams.
There are interior corners and exterior corners. The interior corners can be taped with regular paper tape.
Some people like to use a corner trowel. The wall preparation is the same for inside corners as for wall seams.
You will need to apply the mud to the inside corner in a thin layer and then fold the tape down the middle to fit into the corner.
When you're first learning how-to-install-drywall corners, you might get a few streaks and burrs. It helps to keep the mud fairly light in the corners. Corner trowels are helpful but not all drywall tapers use them.
Once the first coat is dry you can start the second coat. You will do this with a 5 or 6-inch trowel smoothing the mud into one side of the corner at a time.
Once that coat dries you can put a finish coat on. You can use an 8-inch trowel if you have one. Most tapers use a 10-inch trowel for the final coat of mud on corners.
We have finished the inside corners and now we can concentrate on how-to-install-drywall compound to the outside corners. After the corner bead has been nailed in place you can apply the first coat of mud. Corner beads don’t need tape; they just need to be covered with at least three layers of compound.
You just start with the 5-inch trowel and do one side at a time with the first layer, then switch and do the other side covering the entire corner bead with compound.
From this point it’s just the same as inside corners. Make a second application, let dry, and then chip away burrs or high spots, then on to the final coat.
