The modern style homes are using a lot of natural wood. Floors, moldings, stairs, baseboards, trim, and doors. It's expensive and it takes a fair amount of experience to do the finish work. Wood adds value. It's a phase we're all going through right now, but it has always been a safe choice as far as style goes. Wood is relatively low-maintenance. It should be cleaned with lemon-wax every few months to keep the dirt from building up. It needs to be recovered with several coats of varathane varnish about every five years. There are many different interior design ideas from books and magazines that we can find for inspiration. Sometimes we just need to go to interior stores and furniture stores to see how the modern styles are.
