Residential-construction-contractor
Sometimes we just need to find a residential-construction-contractor to do the work for us. The best contractor finding service to date is Service Magic.

I understand all too well how it is to be busy. It's also sometimes about not feeling entirely confident in yourself as a house builder.
The biggest problem is finding someone who will do a good job, won't overcharge us, and will be prompt in finishing the project. If we are looking for a repairing building contractor or a residential-construction-contractor, it can be quite an ordeal. There are too many shifty tradespeople out there and how are we supposed to know how to find a local special-trade-contractor we can trust. This is a really big problem because General contractors usually have the "good" list of local residential-construction-contractors and they keep them so busy and so monopolized that inexperienced people looking for sub-contractors(Electricians, Plumbers, Painters, etc.)have to settle for what is left over or available. Homeowners usually haven't got a clue who is a good sub or a bad sub. That's why I normally discourage people from doing their own General contracting, because there are so many dishonest subs out there that steal the homeowners equity by overcharging. General contractors definitely have a good way of sorting out the rats and making sure they have a hard time finding jobs. So the rats have to prey on the ignorant homeowners.

I have seen many cases where the homeowners decided to do their own General Contracting. They didn't have the inside information on any residential-construction-contractors and it cost them dearly. I have covered this in other parts of this site, but it's worth repeating. Sub-contractors try really hard to please good General contractors because it will provide future jobs for them. They will often work for less money if it means more security.
General contractors have that advantage over normal homeowners. There are many subs that take advantage of homeowners. The subs know there are no future jobs if they do good quality work for a fair price, so they gouge the homeowner all they can. This isn't paranoia on my part, this is experience in dealing with a lot of subs. The line between good business and dishonesty is very vague. The business life of a residential construction contractor or a repairing building contractor can be very lucrative.
I see a lot of new websites all over the web that say,"I built my own house", but as you read further down, you see that they never even lifted a hammer the whole time. What they really mean is that they did their own General Contracting. They claim to have saved 10 to 30 %, but I've seen too many instances where the subs steal the equity by overcharging. If you stick with Service Magic, you'll do just fine. Service Magic can help you find each residential-construction-contractor you'll need.

Some of my friends that are contractors say that a lot of the projects they have are projects that were abandoned by homeowners because they didn't know what they was doing. This happens sometimes, so it's always good to have a wealth of knowledge before you start a project.

Go ahead and visit Service Magic if you feel like you really don't want to take a crack at your own home construction or repair.
