There are many lakes, rivers, and streams. There is something for everyone when you take a vacation to the Yellowstone area.

Snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing is a good way to see the area in the winter.

Many excellent ski resorts are just minutes away from the Island Park and Yellowstone Park areas. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is also very close.

The most popular sport by far is snowmobiling. Island Park comes alive in the winter. There are are hundreds of scenic trails and thousands of square miles to explore on these really fast machines.
